Copper Canyon Falls - Camp Verde

Beautiful day for a hike. Got to spend it with some more of our favorites, the McGowans! This is the third year we have been able to camp with them here in the Verde Valley. Watching Holden and Caleb grow up has been a joy and gives us a little bit of a NanaPa fix.

The trailhead isn’t far from the town of Camp Verde. We decided to take the shorter route to the falls because we had gotten a late start. The path meanders through head high junipers and the entire way was a very gradual slow climb, nothing to strenuous. After a short scramble over some large rocks the trail opened up to the creek and the waterfall. Just beautiful. Guess we were super lucky to see the waterfall at the top as we have heard it is not flowing for much of the year. Having Ron & Kathy’s dog, Maggie, along for the hike gave us a ton of laughs as she jumped in and out of the falls to catch the sticks Holden threw for her.

Check your map, one way takes you straight to the falls, the other on a longer loop.
